What is coaching and how is it different from counseling?

Life coaching is a form of personal development where a professionally trained coach works with individuals to help them identify and achieve their goals. Life coaching is primarily forward-focused and goal-oriented while counseling or therapy focuses on resolving past issues and traumas.

Can I sign up for a retreat with a friend?

Absolutely. In the comments section of your registration, let me know your friend’s name. Make sure they sign up at the same time you do to ensure you will be together. Retreats include a limited number of women to ensure a meaningful shared experience.

Why is it important to get away?

Stepping away from our normal routines is important for maintaining balance, gaining perspective, understanding obstacles, and promoting personal growth and well-being. Whether it's a coaching session, a one-day retreat, or an extended retreat, taking time for ourselves is an invaluable investment in our overall peace, joy, and fulfillment.

What can I expect from a Rooted Coaching Session? 

Your first Rooted Coaching Session will create a safe space by explaining confidentiality and the unique roles of the Coach and you. After this, the direction of each coaching session will be up to you. You will determine the area of your life to which you would like to attend and pursue change. Through active listening and humble inquiry, your coach will help you to clarify your goals and take steps towards reaching them. 

Should I do Rooted Coaching Sessions or a Rooted Retreat?

If you have a specific area of your life that you would like to discuss and gain clarity, beginning with a one-on-one Rooted Coaching Session is the best way to begin. If you want to take some time for yourself and learn more about Rooted Coaching and Emily before engaging in a personal coaching session, start with a Rooted Retreat. Either option will begin a journey of insight and renewal.

Can you create a custom retreat for my group?

Yes! I can create a customized Cincinnati-based one-day or overnight retreat, or a Colorado-based five-day retreat for your group. Groups often include friends, co-workers, book clubs, and more.

Do you accept insurance?

While retreats can enhance one’s health, currently insurance does not cover the cost of Rooted Coaching or Rooted Retreats.
